Bourbon Gents World Cup 2018: 1st Round
1st Round Wrap Up
Wow! What a first round that was.
The World Cup has started with a bang. Over 1300 votes were cast in this round, and we would like to thank all of you for taking part and supporting your favourite bourbon. Additional thanks also goes to Beyonce for her opening ceremony song written just for the event. She's a good sport.
Highlights of this round were - the standard Buffalo Trace offering soundly beating the mighty Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Noah's Mill just edging out Jim Murray's whisky of the year E. H. Taylor Four Grain. And, of course, the still undefeated (and last years winner) Four Roses Single Barrel made it safely through.
The draw for the second round looks like this (see Mav's lovely chart below) and it begins on Monday 12th March at 18:00 GMT.
There are some interesting match-ups to look forward to including - Four Roses against Four Roses with the excellent Small Batch going up against the big hitter Al Young anniversary edition. Two of Mr Pie's favourites go head to head, with Maker's 46 vs Blanton's Gold. Mav's fave Noah's Mill goes up against the surprise winner from the first round - Buffalo Trace. It will be exciting stuff so don't miss your chance to vote - just head over to our twitter account
